From finance and logistics to supply chain and customer management, data is constantly being exchanged between applications. Without effective integration, this information can become inconsistent, fragmented, or prone to errors, leading to inefficiencies and poor decision-making.
At Fenwick, we understand the importance of maintaining reliable, centralised information. That’s why we developed the Data Integrator suite for Dynamics 365 Business Central. These apps provide a secure and efficient way to connect third-party providers with Business Central, reducing the risk of fragmented systems and ensuring information is always accurate and accessible in one place.
Centralising information in Business Central
The Data Integrator suite is designed to simplify and strengthen the way businesses manage their data flows. By allowing you to interface files directly from Business Central, it removes the need for manual uploads, downloads, or additional third-party services. This direct approach helps establish a single source of truth for your business information.
With a centralised system, teams no longer need to worry about conflicting records or duplicated data across different platforms. Instead, Business Central becomes the hub where all information is collected, processed, and stored, giving you a clear and consistent view of your operations.

Reducing risk through integration
Errors and inconsistencies often occur when businesses rely on disconnected systems or ad-hoc integration solutions. The Data Integrator suite mitigates these risks by providing first-party middleware that works out of the box with Microsoft-hosted Business Central. Because it is designed to work natively with Business Central, there is no need for extra servers or third-party tools, reducing points of failure.
This built-in reliability ensures that your data flows remain consistent and secure, so you can trust the information you are working with.
The Data Integrator suite
This suite includes two apps, each designed to support different integration requirements. Both contribute to maintaining a single source of truth in Business Central, but they achieve this in different ways depending on how external data is connected into the system. Here’s how each works:
Data Integrator for Cloud Storage
Data Integrator for Cloud Storage connects Business Central directly to Microsoft Azure Files, giving businesses secure, enterprise-grade access to cloud storage through SMB and REST API protocols. For organisations already using the Microsoft cloud ecosystem, it eliminates the need for additional infrastructure or middleware.
By allowing files to be accessed natively within Business Central, it removes the need for manual transfers and minimises the risk of duplication or version mismatches across storage locations. Documents and data stored in Azure Files are always available in one place, supporting Business Central as the trusted hub for centralised information.

Data Integrator for Power Automate SFTP
Data Integrator for Power Automate SFTP connects Business Central with external systems using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), a widely used method for exchanging trade documents. It relies on a Microsoft-hosted Power Automate companion solution for secure integrations and consistent uptime. A Power Apps Premium License is required to enable this functionality.
It is particularly valuable for businesses that regularly exchange files with suppliers, customers, or trading partners. By automatically moving external documents and data into Business Central, it prevents information from being managed in separate silos. This ensures incoming files are consolidated within the system, reducing the risk of inconsistent data and supporting Business Central as the single source of truth.

Building confidence in your data
By centralising integrations within Business Central, the Data Integrator suite eliminates many of the risks associated with fragmented systems. Instead of relying on multiple platforms with varying levels of accuracy, businesses can operate with a single, reliable hub of information. This reduces the likelihood of errors, builds confidence in reporting, and ultimately supports better decision-making across the organisation.
