To start your manufacturing process, open the Shop Floor Execution page. This page simplifies and consolidates everything needed from a Production Order to the finished product.

Basic Workflow

Your basic workflow with Shop Floor Execution will look something like the following:

  1. Select the Routing Line you are currently working on.
  2. Select Start Setup to start recording setup time for select Routing Line.
  3. Select Start Run to start recording run time for the selected Routing Line.
    • Once you have started recording run time for a Routing Line, any setup time recordings for the Routing Line will stop and you will no longer be able to record any further setup time.
  4. You can pause the recording of setup or run times with Pause.
  5. If any manual consumption or output is required, see Manual Posting.
  6. Select Stop or Finish to post consumption, capacity and output depending on your setup, see One-click Posting.

If you are using Operators, these process will slightly defer, see Recording Time per Operator.

One-click Posting

When selecting Finish or Stop for a Routing Line on the Shop Floor Execution page, consumption and output may be posted.

  • Any active time recordings for the Routing Line is stopped, and non-posted time recordings are posted as capacity.
  • The Quantity to Output is posted if the Routing Line is manual or backward flushed.
    • For backward flushing the Quantity to Output defaults to the remaining quantity and can be overridden.
    • For manual it defaults to 0 and can be overridden instead of using the Production Journal. Linked components are also posted depending on your routing links, see Flush components according to operation output.

Selecting Stop will only post consumption and output, Finish will also update the Routing and Production Order Status, see Finishing Production.

Manual Posting

If you use manual flushing for consumption or output then you have the following options:

For both manual output and consumption you can select Production Journal to open and post output and consumption via the journal. This works the same as the standard process of using the Production Journal from the Production Order.

Additionally manual output quantity can be specified via the Quantity to Output field directly on the Shop Floor Execution page, this quantity will be automatically posted when selecting Finish.

Note, that recorded time will also appear on the Production Journal as Setup Time and Run Time, as they are expected to be posted as well. By default, these fields will be uneditable; however, this can be bypassed by a Production Time Log Admin. See Recording Policies: Bypass Restrictions.

Finishing Production

When selecting Finish for a Routing Line, in addition to any postings, the Routing Status is updated to Finished and the Operation is removed from the page. The associated Production Order’s status is changed to Finish if this is the last operation for the Production Order.

Viewing Time Recordings

You may view any time recordings for a given Routing Line by selecting Time Logs on the following pages:

  • Shop Floor Execution.
  • Production Order Routing via any of the Production Order card pages.
  • Capacity Ledger Entries.

Additionally, when viewing time recordings from the Shop Floor Execution page, any non-posted records can be edited by a Production Time Log Admin. See Recording Policies: Bypass Restrictions.
