Business Central accelerates into the future
The 2025 Directions North America and Asia have come to a close. Both events have left no doubt that the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ecosystem is entering a transformative new era. These core industry events once again brought together partners, ISVs, and Microsoft leaders to share innovations, roadmaps, and success stories that are actively reshaping the landscape of modern business software.
Here are the key takeaways from this year’s events and a few proud moments for our team at Fenwick.
Business Central is booming
Business Central has officially surpassed 45,000 active customers globally. A milestone that proves the platform’s strong momentum and increasing market adoption. Microsoft’s continued investment in product capabilities, integration, and partner enablement is clearly paying dividends, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, and services.
The rapid growth signals a clear trend: Business Central is becoming the ERP of choice. For SMBs looking for flexibility, scalability, and deep integration with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure, Business Central is the paltform to invest in.
AI in Business Central: no longer a vision, it’s here
One of the most recurring themes across both Directions NA and Asia was the tangible integration of artificial intelligence into Business Central. Not as a future ambition, but as a live, working reality.
Microsoft unveiled Business Central Agents, a new generation of embedded AI assistants designed to automate and streamline key workflows:
- Sales Agent: Capable of parsing customer emails and automatically generating sales orders in Business Central, reducing manual data entry and improving response times.
- Payables Agent: Transforms incoming vendor emails into purchase invoices, streamlining payables processing and freeing up finance teams to focus on higher-value activities.
These capabilities are now available in public preview, including in Australia, marking a significant step toward practical AI integration for everyday business tasks.

Business Central release wave 1 investment areas
As presented by Microsoft, the Dynamics 365 Business Central investment areas for 2025 to be included in the wave 1 release are listed below:

Directions Asia 2025: “Share the Future”
Under the theme of “Share the Future,” Directions Asia 2025 brought together over 600 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partners, MVPs, and ecosystem leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region. The event was filled with energy, collaboration, and shared vision for where the platform and the community are headed next.
A particular highlight for us was co-hosting the Riverside Social networking event alongside Seer 365 and XE. With over 130 attendees, the evening was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with peers, celebrate shared successes, and strengthen partner relationships in a gorgeous setting. We’re proud to have been part of such a well-received and engaging event.

Showcasing innovation in manufacturing reporting
A proud highlight for the Fenwick team was seeing Kennie Nybo Pontoppidan from Microsoft present our collaborative work on stage at Directions NA 2025, highlighting the standard manufacturing reports, custom Excel and Word layouts, and financial reporting tools we helped design and implement.
These assets are now standard in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, delivering advanced insights and highly customisable reporting options for manufacturers. We’re thrilled to see these tools in the hands of businesses worldwide, helping them drive better decisions through data.
Fenwick Apps + Tasklet Factory: a winning combination
Our joint session at Directions NA, featuring the Fenwick Apps Manufacturing Pack alongside Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS was a major success, drawing interest from partners and customers alike.
The synergy between Fenwick’s in-depth manufacturing capabilities and Tasklet Factory’s best-in-class warehouse mobility solution creates a powerful, end-to-end operational toolkit. As always, it was a pleasure collaborating with the Tasklet Factory team both professionally and socially. We’re excited to continue building on this strong partnership.

Diversity in Dynamics: an initiative we’re proud to support
Fenwick is proud to support the Diversity in Dynamics initiative at Directions NA 2025. As an organisation committed to building an inclusive, equitable, and globally representative team, we believe diversity is not only a value, it’s a strategic advantage.
We’ve seen firsthand how bringing together talent from across geographies and backgrounds strengthens innovation, collaboration, and impact. We’re pleased to see this message gaining momentum across the Dynamics community.
In summary
From AI-powered automation to advanced reporting, inclusive innovation, and a growing international community, Directions NA and Asia 2025 have reinforced that Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is not just evolving, it’s accelerating.
We’re honoured to be part of this dynamic ecosystem and proud of the work our team continues to contribute in partnership with Microsoft and our peers around the world.
We look forward to what’s next and to continuing to help our clients lead through technology, insight, and collaboration.
